J S S Pre - University College for Women got its separate identity as a result of the Government's education policy to bifurcate the Pre - University College from the Degree College. The College offers courses in Arts, Science and Commerce. A College which started with just 22 students, is now more than 1,200 in strength. The percentage of pass has been 80 - 90% and our goal is to achieve 100% result. As Science and Technology advanced the attitude of society also advanced. Women came out of the houses seeking equality. For the progress of our country education is also necessary. Then his holiness contributed his share to the Nation building by establishing JSS College for Women three decades ago. --
Since its inception with the blessings of His Holiness Jagadguru Dr Shri Shri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji the college devoted to empower the women folk in all aspects. Not surprisingly, the college has been elevated to the extent of catering the needs of the students with the support of dedicated teaching as well as non-teaching personnel. The college has been serving not only to promote at the fundamental level but also functioning as a primary vehicle for the dissemination and maintainance of cultural norms, customs and traditions. Infact education is expected to promote the values of democracy, egalitarian and social justice, good personal, social, moral and spiritual values and the values of tolerance for other's views, languages and religions. Education must necessarily emphasize excellence, productivity and the capacity to tackle the problem. The college is striving to prepare the younger generation to achive a quality of life which is desirable, feasible and sustainable and to lead a useful and purposeful life. It is imparting various programmes based on the needs and aspiration of younger generation. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our JSS Mahavidyapeetha for its whole hearted support in making the Pre-University Education easily accessible to the students from all social and economic background. The college is making sincere efforts to bring co-curricular activities under a single roof as it serves as subservient to the main purpose that is classroom learning.
